Saltwater Pools

At Precision Landscaping, we specialize in designing and installing top-of-the-line salt water inground pools. Salt water pools have a gentler, more natural feel compared to a traditional chlorine pool. By utilizing a saltwater chlorinator, the pool continuously converts salt into chlorine at safe and stable levels. This process eliminates the need for manually adding harsh chemicals, while providing a more comfortable swimming experience.

Saltwater pool installations are both environmentally-conscious and cost-effective. They conserve water, prevent chemical pollution, and require less maintenance. While the initial cost of a saltwater pool may be higher, the long-term costs are lower due to reduced chemical expenses. These eco-friendly solutions not only benefit the planet but also make for a wise investment, saving you money in the long run.

Cost of Installing an Inground Pool

The price to build a pool can vary wildly. The total cost is based on various factors including the type of pool, size of pool, options & features, accessibility of your location, and other dynamic elements. Our team will work with you and provide transparent pricing to develop a pool design that fits your needs, while delivering the pool of your dreams.

Learn more about the cost of installing an inground pool in our blog, how much does it cost to build a pool in Ontario.

Type of Pool

The type of pool you choose will affect the cost of installation. Steel vinyl liner pools are the most affordable, while concrete pools are the most expensive. Fiberglass pools fall in between, offering some homeowners the right balance between cost and durability.

Size of Your Pool

The size of your pool will impact the cost of installation. Larger pools require more materials and labour, increasing the overall cost of installation. When determining the appropriate pool size, it is essential to consider factors such as your backyard space, desired pool activities, and your budget.

The Accessibility of Your Location

The accessibility of your location will affect the cost of installation. If your property has limited access, additional equipment or labour may be needed, increasing the cost of the installation. Our team will assess your property to determine any challenges that may impact the installation process and provide solutions to ensure a smooth project.

Optional Equipment

There are a variety of equipment options designed to add convenience, luxury, and enjoyment to your pool experience. Here are some of the most popular options:

  1. Automatic Pool Covers

A pool cover protects your pool from debris, reduces evaporation, and maintains heat, while also ensuring the safety of your family and pets with the simple press of a button. For a more cost-effective option, we offer mesh pool safety covers, which are not automatic.
  2. Tanning Ledge

A tanning ledge is a shallow, submerged area that is perfect for lounging and sunbathing. It is a versatile feature that can accommodate lounge chairs or simply serve as a relaxing spot for swimmers to cool off while still enjoying the sun and water. A tanning ledge can also be referred to as a "grand entry".
  3. Soft Entrance

A soft entrance is where the depth of the pool gradually increases, allowing swimmers to enter the water gradually without having to take a sudden step or jump. There are several materials that can be used on top of a soft entrance in a pool to provide additional comfort and slip resistance. A soft entrance can also be referred to as a "beach entrance" or "sloping entrance".
  4. Robotic Cleaners

Robotic cleaners are an automated device, which remove dirt and debris from your pool's floor and walls. The automation saves you time and energy, allowing for an effortless, efficient way to keep your pool pristine.
  5. Pool Lighting

Pool lighting can enhance your pool's ambiance and extend your swim time. Lighting comes in a variety of colors and styles to create the perfect atmosphere for your nighttime swims.
  6. Water Features

Water features can be incorporated to elevate your pool's aesthetic and create a soothing atmosphere. Water features can include deck jets, which are water streams that arc gracefully into your pool, or bubblers, which create gentle water columns.
  7. Fire Features

Fire features can include fire bowls or fire pits, which add warmth and light to your pool area. They can also extend the outdoor entertaining season well into the cooler months. These features incorporated into your backyard create a stunning visual contrast against the pool.
  8. Pool Smart Automation

Pool smart automation allows you to control lighting, temperature, pumps, and more from your smartphone or tablet.

The Process of Installing a Swimming Pool

On average, the entire process of a pool project can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. This timeline can vary depending on several factors such as the type of pool, the size and complexity of the project, the location, and the permitting process.

The design process for your pool typically takes 2-6 weeks, as this is dependent on the complexity of your project and the number of revisions required. Once the design is complete, the next step is obtaining the necessary permits from your municipality. Permitting requirements vary by location so can take anywhere from 1 week to 6 months to obtain. After obtaining permits, the installation process can begin. This process typically takes 1 week to 4 months, depending on the size and pool type that is being installed. Lastly, pool landscaping features such as cabanas, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, and privacy screens can impact and lengthen the duration of the entire project.

At Precision Landscaping, we use a streamlined process that ensures minimal disruption to your daily routine and a stress-free experience while we transform your space into a backyard getaway.

Step 1: Pool Design

Our expert designers work with you to create a custom pool design that meets your needs and complements your outdoor space. We provide a professional 2D and 3D landscape design service that gives you multiple visual representations of the project. This will help you better visualize your outdoor space to make informed decisions and ensure the final result meets your expectations. On average, the pool design phase takes 2-6 weeks. Depending on the number of design revisions, it can take longer to come to the perfect design for your swimming pool and backyard space.

Visit our dedicated Landscape Design Page to discover more about our 2D and 3D landscape design technology for inspiration, ideas, and examples of our exquisite work.

Step 2: Site Preparations - Permits & Excavation

Obtaining a permit in Ontario can take anywhere from 1 week to 6 months depending on the municipality that you live in. Our team will help you navigate the permit process and put together the permit requirements to ensure a smoother process.

Once the proper permits are obtained, our team prepares the site to ensure proper ground conditions for pool construction. Site preparations may include grading, excavation, and the installation of any necessary retaining walls or drainage systems. Unforeseen complications can arise if during the excavation the dig-site is restricted by utility lines or other obstructions. This may lengthen how long the pool installation will take. No matter the challenge, we at Precision Landscaping are dedicated to providing the right solution, not cutting corners, and ensuring the pool of your dreams becomes a reality.

Step 3: Pool Installation

The pool installation process may involve setting the pool shell, installing the pool equipment, and connecting the plumbing and electrical systems. Our team adheres to the highest quality standards and local building codes to ensure a safe and efficient pool installation.

Step 4: Pool Landscaping

In addition to installing and enhancing your pool, we will also complete your backyard landscaping. Our landscape designers will create a cohesive and functional outdoor living space that exudes luxury and style.

Our team expertly combines hardscaping and softscaping elements to ensure a well-balanced and visually appealing result. Hardscaping elements encompass features such as stonework and decks, while softscaping elements include components like gardens, trees, and shrubs. We also offer the integration of additional elements, such as cabanas, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, and privacy screens to complement your backyard and pool design. These structures provide privacy or a relaxing retreat away from the sun, with cabanas even offering options for outdoor showers or washrooms.

Built In Spillover Spas

A built-in spillover spa is a smaller body of warm to hot water built directly in the pool. It is designed to overflow into the main pool, which allows the two bodies of water to share a circulation system. The spillover creates a visually appealing waterfall effect, while providing swimmers with a relaxing and therapeutic experience.

Spillover spas can be incorporated into all pool types including fiberglass, steel vinyl liner, and concrete inground pools. At Precision Landscaping, we can guide you through the process of incorporating a spillover spa into your pool design. Our pool installation experts will ensure the end result meets your needs and complements your outdoor space, creating for you the ultimate backyard getaway.

Hot Tubs

Adding a hot tub to your pool area can enhance your outdoor space and offer relaxation and therapeutic benefits. Hot tubs can also extend the use of your backyard, provide entertainment for family and guests, and increase the value of your home. When considering adding a hot tub, it's important to ensure that it's integrated with the pool's design and overall aesthetic.

At Precision Landscaping, we can help guide you through the process of choosing the right hot tub for your backyard and ensure a seamless installation that meets your needs and complements your pool area. With our experience in pool and hot tub installation, we can guarantee a hassle-free process that results in a beautiful and functional addition to your outdoor living space.

Areas We Service

Questions our Customers Often Ask About Pool Installation

Our expert team is always here to answer any questions you may have about pool installation. Here are some of the most common questions we receive about pool installation, along with our expert advice to help you make informed decisions.

  • When installing a pool in Ontario, there are four essential equipment components that must be incorporated into your pool installation: a pool pump, a pool filter, a pool sanitation system, and a pool heater.

    • Pool Pump

The pool pump is responsible for keeping your pool water circulating and filtered. The pump will prevent stagnant water and promote a cleaner and healthier swimming environment.

    • Pool Filter

A pool filter is paired with the pump and is essential for removing dirt, debris, and contaminants from your pool water. There are various filter types including sand filters and cartridge filters. Each filter offers different levels of filtration and maintenance to suit your specific needs and preferences.

    • Pool Sanitation

A proper pool sanitation system is crucial to protect your pool from algae and bacteria growth. Our pools utilize saltwater systems, which effectively kill harmful microorganisms and maintain proper water chemistry.

    • Pool Heater

A pool heater helps maintain a comfortable temperature, extending your swimming season. There are various types of heaters, including gas, electric, and solar-powered to suit your specific needs and preferences. In Ontario, pool heaters are mandatory.

    • Salt Generator

As all of the pools we install are saltwater, a salt water generator is necessary for your pool. A saltwater generator is a system that transforms salt into chlorine, offering a more natural look to your pool, as well as a more comfortable swimming experience reducing skin and eye irritation.

  • We firmly believe that the best time to install your dream pool is anytime. Our expert team is equipped to install fiberglass and steel vinyl liner pools in the spring, summer, and fall, while concrete pools can be installed year-round.

Though winter installations may seem challenging, we take all necessary measures, including frost protection, to guarantee the integrity and longevity of your pool. Our commitment to excellence ensures a seamless experience, regardless of the season.
  • The duration of a pool installation varies based on the type of pool, the complexity of the project, and the specific site conditions. On average, you can expect the pool installation to take anywhere from 1 week to 4 months. This timeline includes site preparation, pool installation, and any additional pool features or backyard landscaping enhancements. For more details on the process, check out our blog, What is the duration of the average pool project.
  • Choosing the right pool size for your backyard requires consideration of several factors. These include the available space in your yard, intended pool activities (swimming laps or recreational use), number of people who will use the pool, and your budget. Permits can also limit the size and location of your pool on the property, as they may require minimum distances from property lines or existing structures.

It's also important to keep in mind that a larger pool translates to more maintenance and costs in terms of cleaning, chemical treatments, and energy to run the pool equipment. It's necessary to strike a balance between these factors to ensure that your pool meets your needs while complementing your outdoor space.

  • The time it takes to obtain a permit for pool installation varies by location and the specific requirements of your local municipality. Generally, obtaining a pool permit can take anywhere from 1-6 months. Our team is familiar with the local municipalities in our services areas and can help you in navigating the permit process and ensure all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Pool maintenance can be relatively straightforward if you have the right equipment and a consistent maintenance routine. Check out our Pool Care Guide to help you stay on top of pool maintenance and ensure you'll have a clean, safe, and enjoyable swimming experience for years to come.
  • Yes, you can maintain a pool yourself. It requires consistent effort, proper knowledge and the right tools. The essential steps for maintaining a pool are laid out here in our Pool Care Guide. Staying on top of pool maintenance will ensure you'll have a clean, safe, and enjoyable swimming experience for years to come.
  • Some of the many benefits of a saltwater pool include but, are not limited to:

    1. Reduce risk of respiratory illness overtime
    2. Reduce risk of redness or irritation to the skin and eyes
    3. Gentler on the skin, eyes, and hair
    4. Environmentally-conscious
    5. Cost-effective

Testimonials

Whatever I thought that I wanted for my backyard, was not even close to what I am now enjoying! You guys are absolutely amazing and my expectations are totally exceeded. Just an excellent job in every sense. From plants to sod to steps. Thank you for the great suggestions and the superb workmanship. Can't wait to see how much higher my property is now valued. I've received compliments and requests for referrals no less than 5 times already in the past week. And we have happily recommended Precision each time. Best regards!

Precision Landscaping is a company I would highly recommend to do business with. Steve is a talented designer when it comes to helping you get everything you can out of your yard space. Both Steve and Martein are super responsive, respectful of your time, and knowledgeable in whatever it is you might ask them. Their crew was fantastic, on time, worked hard, cleaned up every day before leaving. Our project took 10 days to complete and we are completely satisfied love it how it turned out. Precision Landscaping gave is the exact space we were hoping to have.

Steve and his crew are great. Our back yard was a muddy, scrubby weed patch. They cleared it out, levelled it, put in a slab for my new hot tub, and installed an awesome paver patio complete with stone benches and a big fire pit. It turned out way nicer than we were hoping for. What was essentially wasted space is now a great backyard hangout area. And we have to note Steve did a great job of suggesting ideas, since we started out a bit unsure of what we wanted the end result to be. We've already recommended them to a couple friends, and we will continue to do so. And in the meantime we'll be cooling off in the backyard.
